Minutes of July club meeting

Post by km6yu »

Greetings,

July 11, 2020

After several months of no meetings we finally resumed with our first outdoor meeting at Lattin Farms.

The meeting was opened by president Brenda AF7SW.

Treasurers report was given by Steve, KM6YU
Now that we are meeting again, it was decided that we will resume collecting dues.

Vice president Rick, K7ET advised that an updated club roster is available and has been emailed to the membership.

New business,

How do we get new members to participate?
one suggestion was made to have a "new member net" to encourage them to pick up the mike and check in.
also suggested was to start an HF net to encourage the use of their HF radios. We will begin a 10 meter net on Sunday after the 2 meter net. All are invited to join in.

Using "forums" on the web page, The secretary volunteered to start putting the minutes of the meetings on forums. I hope you are enjoying it!
Add a "FAQ" section to the web site.

A suggestion was made to email all hams in Churchill county and invite them to join in on our Sunday night nets and to visit our web site.

Emergency coordinator Bob, KF7LSM Setting up radios and antennas at the new EOC. Need to come up with an antenna structure that will work and be acceptable to the county.

planning for the next event, JOTA in October.

A suggestion was made to have a "get on the air" special event at the Cantaloupe Festival

Our next meeting will be August 1, 2020 at Lattin farms. Outdoors, lots of grass and plenty of shade. Come join us for a great time.
